Given the bountiful hit songs released this year, you can never get enough of all the good stuff that comes out of that excess. We gather some of the best songs for you to jam, dance, cry, and zone out to. It may be early into 2020, but there’s already a handful of standout tracks I’ve heard on repeat, and you should too.

“Brighter Days”, Sauti Sol

Do you know those songs that immediately make your mind “cut to” a sequence of memories? Well, Brighter Days sure does that. With the intro jam and the looped vocals of our amazing boy band featuring Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir, the sparkling production lets you live there. This sing-along praise song sends positivity and encouragement throughout nations.

“Savage”, Meghan Thee Stallion

The song found success on TikTok and later on emerged number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 with its remix featuring Beyoncé. If you’re familiar with Thee Stallion, this shouldn’t come as a surprise because, with her lyrical prowess, it was a due time before she became one of the hottest rappers. The song reflects on how she can be classy and sassy but don’t be mistaken for she can also be moody and nasty.

“Toosie Slide”, Drake

The multitalented musician released the song through Republic and OVO and titled it after social media influencer who had previously helped the song go viral. Just like most of the songs, it also took over TikTok with its simple moves. “Toosie Slide” became a social media hit before it was even released in full.

“Death Bed”, Powfu

This is the kind of “Coffee for my head” I need. With a punk-leaning cadence, it is clear that the elements influence his voice from songs like “Ocean Eyes” which is reminiscent of the punk hip-hop. Powfu both sings and raps throughout the song with the support of a lo-fi beat. The song comes across as if the persona is communicating to his partner what appears to be his final words to her.
