8 students from Sunshine Secondary School were on Friday night apprehended by the police following an attempt to burn their dormitory.
Lang’ata Police OCPD Elijah Mwangi said that the eight boys, who are being held at the Lang’ata police station, will be probed to find out who will be charged in connection with the incident.
“We are interrogating them to see who carries the responsibility. We’ll communicate at a later stage confirming who is to be taken to court.”
The arrests were made after the administration got a tip off from the students.
The arrests come at a time when arson attacks in public schools are on the rise with President Uhuru Kenyatta saying that action will be taken against those found to be burning schools and destroying property.
