In what is becoming a worrying trend, the number of school fires that have been reported ever since schools reopened on January 4th has been on an upward trajectory. With at least 9 high schools from across the country reporting a fire incident in the last 3 weeks, the ministry of education is increasingly getting alarmed. Education CS George Magoha was forced to issue a ban on all portable hand sanitizers in schools last week as he cited concerns over how inflammable the sanitizers are. The ban would reduce the risk of students using the chemicals to start or fuel fires in schools.

The DCI has also been forced to get involved as this was now becoming a criminal matter. The Director of Directorate of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti has also sent a stern warning to the students involving themselves with criminal activities including arson as this will come back to haunt them in the future.

We have compiled a list of 9 schools that have suffered a school fire in the last 3 weeks since schools opened.
