Most students fall victim to being the sleeping bug in school. Sleeping in the classroom or during preps could take a big fraction of your time. Oversleeping could also disfavor you since you may be unable to cover large chunks of work. It’s important to learn how to get rid of the sleepiness. Here are tips on how to go about it:

Avoid heavy meals

Taking heavy meals can at times cause lethargy. Therefore, take your meals earlier, before the study hour or take lighter meals especially during lunch when you’ll have lessons in the afternoon.

Drink lots of water

Water keeps your body hydrated and active hence also increasing your memory activity. This makes you sharp and attentive in class.

Get enough sleep

Follow a strict sleeping timetable during school days. Enough sleep affords the body enough rest hence avoiding fatigue and sleepiness during the day and during preps.

Prioritize light topics at night

Adjust your studying habits to fight the sleep away. Tackle hard topics in the morning hours when your brain and mind are active. Then save the easier topics for late-night hours just before bed time. That way you won’t feel extra tired and/ or pressurized during night study time.

Taking coffee or tea in the early morning hours keeps your brain active and alert since it jolts your senses. This leads to higher spikes in energy and ultimately you remain active the entire time you are in class.
