Beryl Owano is back, bigger and better! After a one year hiatus from the music industry, working on new music and bettering herself as a musician, the sassy singer is back with new music, a new look and a new management team. This time round, the comeback bears good news as the singer is finally ready to drop the much anticipated debut project “Omukhana Msanii”.
After battling depression in 2018 Beryl Owano was able to commendably bounce back and land a nomination in the Pulse Music Video Awards for the Best Breakthrough Video, for her song Utafilisika. In 2019 she continued to go from strength to strength and again landed a nomination for her song Kalipso.
Her first project of 2021, which is off the upcoming debut EP is titled “Fire Emoji”. The song is a celebration of being a woman who is in charge of her own destiny. It captures a combination of explosive beats, catchy looks and dope writing, a huge improvement on the artiste’s side. The artiste also took up the challenge herself on a more urban beat with a next generation tempo.
The singer and songwriter who tracks her professional singing career back to 2013, has come a long way in establishing her name within the industry. She started as a background vocal singer for various artistes in studios and recording with various Congolese bands. Her determination put her on the map and attracted recognition from awards like the Kisumu Teeniez Awards in which she won the Female Artiste of the Year.
The energetic singer is determined to make 2021 her year with the new EP “Omukhana Msanii” on the way. She has already provided us with a snippet of the massive project that lies ahead.
