KTN’s Joy Doreen Biira has been arrested by the Ugandan army for supposedly highlighting the ongoing Kasese clashes on social media.

Sources indicate that the business news anchor got into trouble for taking photos and videos of the Kasese District which has been badly hit by the clashes. More than 55 people are feared dead.

According to the Daily Monitor, the police arrested Ms Biira and her fiancé after raiding her uncle’s home which is located in the troubled region.

The two had travelled to Uganda so that she could formally introduce the man who goes by the name Newton Kungu to her family.

Just before her arrest, Biira had put up a post on social media strongly condemning the attacks on palace of the place that she comes from.  However, the post has since been deleted.
