The death of George Floyd sent shock-waves around the world. It resulted into protests against systemic racism and police brutality around the world. Under the banner #BlackLivesMatter, the wave of protests have been a trending topic around the world as people seek to inspire more permanent systemic solutions to racism and police brutality. Notable celebrities and brands have also joined the millions of protestors who are making their voices heard. The Insyder plug looks at some of these celebs and brands who are using their influences to amplify the movement and bring change to the world.
The Without Me hit-maker has been particularly outspoken about the need to have social justice reforms. She has been sharing pictures and live commentary from the ground while protesting in Los Angeles.
The famed songbird recently opened up about her personal experience while participating in a protest in Santa Monica, California. During this protest she was photographed giving medical aid to injured protestors. “I had to bandage a man who looked like his entire face had exploded today. So before you say, from the comfort of your home, that we’re exaggerating, please consider the injuries some have suffered,” she said on a post on her Instagram account.

2. Ariana Grande
Ariana was recently spotted in Los Angeles taking part in the #BlackLivesMatter protests accompanied by her boyfriend Dalton Gomez and close friend Doug Middlebrook.
The 26-year old encouraged the media to bring to the world’s attention the peaceful side of the protests. “Hours and miles of peaceful protesting yesterday that got little to no coverage. All throughout Beverly hills and west Hollywood, we chanted, people beeped and cheered along. We were passionate, we were loud, we were loving. Cover this too please. #BLACKLIVESMATTER,” tweeted the pop star.

3. Savage X Fenty
The lingerie brand owned by music star Rihanna has been sharing resources and awareness for anti-racism and Black Lives Matter. The brand recently revealed that it will be donating to Black Lives Matter New York and Bail Project. The donations will also encompass other brands related to the star.
