Arsenal are facing a self-inflicted crisis.

On top of the fact that Wenger has refused to match his competitors’ spending and increase the depth of his squad, Arsenal have lost several players all at once to injury. The following are the players currently out on injury:

Alex Iwobi (3 weeks)

Aaron Ramsey (4 weeks)

Gabriel Paulista (1 month)

Per Mertesacker (2 months)

Carl Jenkinson (2 months)

Danny Welbeck (5 months)

Iwobi and Ramsey picked up the injuries in Sunday’s game against Liverpool, while Gabriel got injured against Manchester City in the pre-season.

With Ozil, Giroud and Koscielny not fit enough to start the coming game, Arsenal are looking at a horror start to the EPL season. They need signings as soon as possible, but whether that fact will be enough to convince Arsene Wenger is debatable.

The future of Arsenal’s season and Wenger’s career may very well depend on how he acts before the transfer window closes.
