As the 2014/15 transfer window draws to a close, & with low key purchases so far, it’s looking most likely that Man United could have the last laugh. This after 2 key Galaticos players, Di Maria and Khedira rejected extensions to their contracts.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Angel di Maria and Sami Khedira have rejected a contract renewal and want to move. Ancelotti revealed to the press earlier today that Argentine international di Maria wants to move away from the Santiago Bernabeu and has refused to sign a contract extension. Ancelotti said: “Di Maria has asked to leave and rejected a contract offer from the club. But if he does not find the future solution he stays no problem.”
Di Maria has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United but the French champions have been constrained by the FFP regulations and want the winger on loan, which seems unlikely. English giants United will now be looking to pay the €75 million that Real Madrid are asking for the 26-year-old winger who guided Real to their tenth Champions League title and the Copa del Rey last season.
Another player which has been said to asked for a move is German midfielder Sami Khedira. Khedira’s contract renewal has not gone according to the plan for Madrid and the 27-year-old central midfielder believes that with the signing of compatriot Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich this summer, he will not feature in the starting eleven.
Real do not want the World Cup winner to leave on a free transfer as his contract expires next summer. Arsenal, Chelsea and United could be Khedira’s next destination.
