The Corona virus pandemic has brought the whole world into a standstill, the entertainment industry not being an exception. Musicians who largely earn from performing entertainment shows are now at a huge loss since the social distancing rule was enacted.
Diamond who had scheduled 30 shows in Africa, Europe and America this year, will probably have to cancel all of them until the Corona virus pandemic comes to an end. That being the case, the Jeje hit maker is looking at losses not going below Sh. 3.5 billion. Speaking to Mvumo TV, the Tanzanian Bongo Flava Musician disclosed that his label would suffer big losses at this crucial time.
“I had shows in Europe America and Africa which have all been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic…that means loss to me and also to my label…”
The Number One hit maker however concurred that he is making a fortune from the audience he has created on his social media platforms though.
Amid the pandemic, Diamond had pledged to pay three months rent for 500 families in Dar es Salaam. His act of kindness was however been met with controversy from his baby Mama Zari Hassan who claimed that Diamond hardly provides for his children.
