FPL bosses ended game week 7 on a low as the obvious bets failed to deliver in what has become a norm in an unpredictable start to the season. However, those who had James Ward Prowse and Diogo Jota really enjoyed a good weekend. This week, as some of the big names clash, your transfers must be spot on! Man City face Liverpool at the Etihad, Leicester welcome Wolves at home as Ole’s struggling side pay a visit to high flying Everton at Goodison Park. Here is some team selection advice:
Chelsea’s new signing, Edouard Mendy should be on top of your list. The Blues seem to have found some stability at the back, thanks to their new defensive additions, Thiago Silva and Ben Chillwell. Mendy has kept 5 cleansheets in his last five starts. Bargain price: £5.1m.
Transfer Out – If you have Trent Alexander Arnold(£7.4m) in your team then you better dump him out as fast as you can. The highest scoring left back last season has really with 210 points has really struggled this season with only 4 points from 7 matches. With City next, it doesnt look good for him.
Transfer in – Ben Chilwell(£5.9m) seems to have found his form at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard. He already has 33 points in four matches, recording an assist and goal in his last outing. Wolves defender, Max Kilman(£4.3m) also seems to be a good bargain.
Transfers in – It’s not surprising that Hakim Ziyech(£8m) is the most transferred in midfielder this week after that impressive performance last week. He gained a total 14 points in the FPL in his full debut against Burnley.
Diogo Jota(£6.4m) is in the form of his life right now. The new Liverpool addition scored his first Champions League Hattrick against Atlanta this week and looks to start against City.
As usual Heung-min Son(£9.6m) should remain top of mind. The Tottenham striker is currently the top scorer and looks unstoppable with Kane by his side.
Transfer Outs – Kai Havertz(£8.4m) has tested positive for covid-19 and is expected to miss out on a couple of matches this month. Roberto Firmino(£9.3m) also looks highly likely to drop to the bench.
Transfer Outs – Danny Ings'(£8.5m) injury served a blow to many FPL bosses with the Southampton striker set to miss out for 5-6 weeks.
Trasnfer ins – A cheaper alternative to Danny Ings would be Dominic Calvert Lewin(£7.7m) who is currently the joint highest goal scorer in the league. For the high spenders, Harry Kane(£11m) who currently has 71 points in the league and Timo Werner(£9.4m) should be top of your list.
Captain Gameweek 8
Despite a slow start, i would be backing Pierre Emerick Aubameyang(£11.7m) for captain as he looks to get back into form. In form Jamie Vardy(£10m) should also be top of your list as the striker gained 14 points last week against Leeds.
