After a long wait Harambee Stars final shine over The DRC. Michael Olunga struck a second half winner as Kenya put up a spirited fight to stun the highly praised Democratic Rebublic of Congo. 1-0 in an international friendly match played at the 80000 seater Stade de Martyrs on Tuesday 4th October is a big deal for team the Harambee stars and a massive win if I may add.
The hosts were dominant for the better part of the first half creating numerous chances but Kenya back line led by skipper of the day David Owino partnering Brian Mandela did well to stop their attacks. DR Congo had the first test at goal on the fourth minute through Jose Mpoku whose shot was easily picked by Boniface Oluoch.
Michael Olunga struck for Kenya in the 65th minute handing coach Okumbi his first away win since taking over the team in February. Well done Harambee Stars for the historic win over the host.
