TV host, Janet Kanini Ikua, touched the hearts of many with the story of her health , ever since she posted that she has lung cancer. Kenyans have shown their compassion and encouraged her through her treatment . Most have even contributed money towards her treatment in India.

Last weekend , media personalities and entertainers held a concert One Nation For Janet’. The concert saw the graceful appearance of many A-list artists  who even performed without receiving a penny . The proceeds of the concert were all tallied to funds being raised for her treatment expenses.

Janet  took to her Facebook page and posted an emotional letter, which expressed her heart felt appreciation to everyone who took part in organizing the concert and everyone who participated in contribution.

“I am kidogo tired but extremely happy from the events of the past few days. I believe the purpose of my medical journey is to encourage, educate and inspire fellow DVT and cancer patients and their support systems, because, and I repeat this emphatically – CANCER IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE! Regardless of what medical reports and scans show. Healing can happen in an instant if you believe it is so. God can turn your mess into a message.

On Sunday at the concert I was overwhelmed by the compassion and kindness and generosity that many Kenyans have shown me. so machozi ilikuwa mingi :sob: :sob: I hope you who attended and those who watched on NTV enjoyed the music, comedy and goodwill given out by fantastic artists who generously gave their time and energy for free”
