Jose Mourinho is on the brink of being sacked by Chelsea according to pupular reports and sources across EPL.The Stamford Bridge boss and his backroom team went into Saturday’s clash with Liverpool knowing they had to win to ensure their survival.
The Blues were beaten and the issue is now when owner Roman Abramovich will make the change. Sources in Portugal believe Mourinho may not be in charge for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev.
Mourinho only signed a new four year contract in August after guiding the Blues to the Premier League title.He is believed to be paid around £9.5 million a-year. But there is a clause that stipulates he will receive one year’s salary if the contract is terminated.
This was Chelsea’s sixth defeat in 11 League games. They remain in fifteenth place and yet again Mourinho blamed his side’s failings on a refereeing conspiracy theory.
