Deputy President Ruto had to be rescued after the pilot of the helicopter transporting him missed his route.
Ruto and his entourage were stranded in Kapedo area for hours.
Kapedo is a hostile area known for cattle wrestling.
According to the Standard, the pilot of the helicopter identified as Stefan from South Africa, had picked Ruto from Kericho to attend three functions in Baringo and was to land at Tangulbei but instead missed the route and ran out of fuel.
