Last weekend was full of activities sports-wise. Different regions held their finals to select who would represent them at the national level come next month. For starters, we have eight regions, which are basically what we used to know as provinces. All regions have held their finals except North Eastern which is yet to, and is likely to hold theirs early next month just before nationals.

In Nairobi, Buru galz’s Timberland beat Parklands Arya and are now going to face Nyamira Girls and St. Brigits in basketball girls nationals in one pool. Also in the same pool will be a representative from North eastern region. Pool B shall have Kaya Tiwi from the Coast, Kirigara, Tigoi and Loreto Limuru from Kiambu. For basketball boys, pool A shall have kanagru Boys, Nairobi’s Uppah, Aga Khan from the coast and then Kisumu Boys. Pool B shall have North Eastern’s representative taking on Laiser Hill, Sigalame and Nyeri Baptist.

The North Eastern region doesn’t participate in some sports, like hockey (boys and girls) and Rugby. Therefore, the KSSSA decided that Nairobi shall have two representatives in each of the three games.
