The real Kenya Under 17 team, the one with players actually in high school, take on their Naija counterparts in the very first Copa Africa Cup of Nations.

The Kenya team, with all the players coming from the champions of the 2018 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) tournament held in July earlier this year.

The bulk of the players in the team come from St. Antony’s Secondary School. Unlike the national Under 17 team, these players are actually in high school, and are under the age of 17.

Given the high profile nature of the tournament, and its ability to attract spectators in huge numbers, it’s a pity that it wasn’t played later in the afternoon, as is traditional with most football matches. But guess FKF can’t accept the fact that age cheating is rampant in their selection of the national U17 team.
