Corruption has become Kenyans cancer that never seems to get a cure. World cup bound Kenyan referee, Aden Marwa Range who was bound to officiate at the world’s largest and most important football event had his dreams cut short by his uncalled for actions. The pro referee has been involved in some major competitions rounding up to his qualification to be part of the global event.
The 41-year old is the first Kenyan referee to be involved in any major FIFA competition having participated in the 2011 FIFA under-17 World Cup and was also an assistant referee at the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup. He was also named an assistant referee in the 2012, 2013 Afcon.

In an exclusive video taken by the BBC’s African Eye documentary, Marwa is seen taking a bribe of Ksh.60,000, Anas Aremeyaw, a Ghanaian investigative journalist posed as a Ghanaian football official. This was so as to affect the outcome of the match between Ghana and Mali which the Black stars won.
The Kenyan secondary teacher will be facing a possible sanction with a match suspension or a ban from taking part in any football activity together with a fine of about Ksh. 1.5 million.
