Touted as one of the best rappers in Africa right now, Khaligraph Jones has been enjoying great accolades in the past 2 years including a BET Hip Hop Awards nomination. After a pandemic ridden 2020, the rapper promised his fans that in 2021 he would be taking over Africa. True to his word, just 11 days in and he has dropped the hottest hip hop song in Africa right now.

Rumors of a Khaligraph X Sarkodie collabo started going round way back in 2019 when Sarkodie teased a project with the Kenyan rapper. Most of the fans expected the collabo to drop in 2020, but it seems the duo had other plans. After almost two years of speculations, the duo finally released the much anticipated song dubbed “WAVY”. Just minutes after dropping the song, the internet has gone berzerk across the continent with the duo trending both in East and West Africa.

The long wait was entirely worth it! The song is a pure re-discovery of African rap, molded with an urban sound and genius delivery. With a hardcore rap sensation, the two rappers go at it in what would only be viewed as an EMINEM VS EMINEM rap battle. This is an orgasmic track for Hip Hop lovers. Its a reminder of the pure talent we have been sleeping on within our continent.

The duo have also set the standards high when it comes to the video production. One fun fact is that Khaligraph had to rebuild a classic car from scratch simply to do the video shoot. It shows just how much value the rapper had put into the song.
