The Kenya National Union Of Teachers has rejected the changes made to the 3rd term of the school calendar by CS Fred Matiang’i.
Through their Secretary General Wilson Sossion,KNUT claimed that they were not engaged in the changes made by the CS last Thursday.
“Some of the changes made by the Education CS are outrageous and as teachers we cannot support them,” said Sossion
He also said that it was not the right move to ban prayer and visiting days in third term.
The union added that such measures aimed at curbing cheating in the national exams will only lead to student unrest in schools.
However, Matiang’i said that all stakeholders, including church leaders were engaged on the changes and insisted that they have to be adhered to.
