It was sweet victory for ten-man Laiser Hill after they beat Barding High 3-1. The match went into crazy post-match penalties leading Laiser to their maiden Airtel Rising Stars KSSSA national title. The finals went down at Moi Stadium in Kisumu yesterday.

In girl’s category, St. John’s Kaloleni dethroned champions Wiyeta Girls to also celebrate a maiden title with a 3-1 victory.


The female player of the day was Christine Kitaru from Nginda Gee as they beat Nyakach Gee 2-0.


Kenya will be the hosts of the East Africa Secondary Schools games later this month in Eldoret. This will see the top four boys’ and girls’ teams from the just completed term 2b games automatically play in the tournament.

For the boys, Passenga, Bukembe, Laiser Hill and Barding Boys while Nyakach, Nginda, Wiyeta and St. John’s for the girls will rep Kenya to the max
