March 20th, 2020. The Weekend releases his fourth studio album amid a pandemic. He offers some entertainment for the bored us; God knows we need it. But what exactly is this album? What does he want to make us feel? Or better yet, what do we feel when we listen to it?

Honestly, I have listened to this album for like the tenth time since it was released. And it’s not because it’s so good but rather it’s because it is really bugging me why I do not love it as much. Don’t get me wrong, I do not hate the whole of it. There are some songs like Hardest to Love that I’ll definitely be having in my personal playlist, and then there’s Heartless, Blinding Lights, After Hours,  Save your Tears and In Your Eyes.

In the whole 14-track album, I am scared to admit those six are the only songs I love. Oh plus  I love the Heartless video’. There’s something about those yellow lights; those damn yellow lights.

And about the matter of what he wants us to feel; he wants to know that he has gotten over this girl that broke his heart right? Yeah, he pretty much achieves that; but not in the sense, I feel like he should have. I just do not feel the emotional aspect of it as much as I hoped I would.

Generally, I’ll rate this album 6/14.  But these are only my opinions; what do you think?
