When you become part of a franchise as big and important as Star Wars, there is plenty to smile about.

And with the release date of The Force Awakens just around the corner, Lupita Nyong’o couldn’t help but grin and laugh her way through a photo call to promote the movie in Mexico City on Tuesday.

Here comes the blue belle: Lupita Nyong'o was a stunning sight at a photo call for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in her birthplace of Mexico City on Tuesday

It must have been an extra special event for the 32-year-old, who was born in the Mexican capital, before her family moved back to Kenya when she was less than a year old.
In amazing shape: Lupita wore a figure-hugging blue dress which featured peachy pink trim, paired with sheer panelled white pumps
Teamwork: Lupita was joined by co-star Oscar Isaac and screenwriter Kathleen Kennedy 'Preposterous': Director JJ Abrams recently slammed rumours that Lupita's scenes has been 'massively' cut back due to what was described in reports as a 'subpar performance'

In The Force Awakens, Lupita plays a completely computer generated character, the tiny ex-pirate known as Maz Kanata.
