Margaret Nyairera Wambui has won the bronze medal in the women’s 800 meters at the Rio Olympics.

The race was won by controversial South African Caster Semenya.

This is a proud moment for the 20 year old at her first ever Olympic games. Not only is it her first Olympics, she is the first Kenyan in a long while to participate in the 800 meters and win a medal. She finished at her personal best of 1:56.89.
