The COVID-19 pandemic shook the world and transformed life as we knew it. In came isolations and lockdowns that restricted us from the hyped life we are used to. In a bid to keep out boredom, we resorted to numerous amounts of movie watching. Netflix and chill became the new normal. With months staying at home, you feel as if you have watched all movies ever produced. In a bid to ensure that your movie in-tray remains locked and loaded, the Insyder plug compiled a list of movies that will still premiere this July.

  1. The Old Guard

The Old Guard is an upcoming American superhero film that focuses on a team of mercenaries who are immortals able to heal from any wound. As they discover yet another immortal, they realize someone is onto their secret and have to fight for their freedom.

The film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and is based on the comic book of the same name. the film will star Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It is scheduled to be released on July 10, 2020, by Netflix.

2. Greyhound

The American war drama film follows a US Navy Commander on his first war-time assignment in command of a multi-national escort group defending a merchant ship convoy under attack by submarines in early-1942 during the Battle of the Atlantic, only months after the U.S. officially entered World War II.

The film is based on the 1955 novel The Good Shepherd by C. S. Forester and stars Tom Hanks, Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan, and Elisabeth Shue. it is directed by Aaron Schneider and the screenplay was written by Tom Hanks.

The film was initially scheduled to be released in the United States on June 12, 2020, by Sony Pictures Releasing, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following this, the distribution rights to the film were then sold to Apple TV+ who will release the film on July 10. 2020.

3. Skate God

The story is set in a futuristic world and centers on a skater who discovers he is a descendant of the Greek god Zephyrus and is thrust into a battle with a society that wants to take over the outside earth. Skate God will feature professional skateboarders Tony Hawk, Chad Fernandez, Leticia Bufoni, Garrett Hill, Corey Duffel, David Gonzalez, Diego Najera, William Spencer, Reuben Najera, Moose, and Tony Alva. The film will be released on 24th July 2020.
