Okoth Obado, the governor of Migori country has finally gotten his much awaited bail release. The release comes thirty three days after the governor was locked up at the Nairobi Industiral Area Remand Centre.

Judge Jessie Lessit who was presiding over the case released the governor on a five million shillings bail. The judge stated that the release was to allow for further investigations into the case of Sharon Otieno’s murder.

Obado’s release terms as laid out by the judge were he was to hand in all his travel documents. He was also to be provided with protection and not to stay 20 kms away from his county.

His fellow accomplices Michael Onyamo and Caspal Otieno still remain in detention after they were denied bail.

Okoth Obado’s case has been set for hearing on a later date once the investigations have been completed.
