Floyd Mayweather is not only 11 time World Champion but boasts of undefeated record in his 22 year old professional career.
The only other person to have come close to beating him would be Manny Pacquiao, during the much publicized and controversial Fight of the Century that went down on May 2nd 2015.So its not strange that the recent comments by UFC alpha female fighter Ronda Rousey has created mixed reactions and caused an uproar. While her statements may have been made with a light touch in response to a funny question, it didn’t take much from the debate of who among them would win if they were ever to face each other in a MMA ring.
Speaking to Power 106 FM Ronda claimed she could beat world’s best boxer.
‘‘I wouldn’t even stand up, I wouldn’t even be anywhere near him. I would just do like a little army crawl over there, and he would have to run away. I would just be skittering after him like the one dude in Bloodspot that was doing the whole monkey crawl fight system. I would do that. I would just bear crawl over there too low for him to hit me, and I’d tackle him down…. I spent a lot of time [on the ground], and I doubt that he does’’
Ronda Rousey is the first and current UFC Bantamweight Champion. Her fights are normally characterized by takedowns, kicks, knees and submissions, tactics that Mayweather isn’t averse to. Many argue that if the Judo Olympic Bronze medalist could find her way past Mayweather’s speed then she might stand a chance beating him especially using the ‘monkey crawl’ which would help her create stealth something that would come in handy when fighting one of the fastest boxers in the world as opposed to the convectional mixed martial art fights which more often than not are always about clinching and cage brawls.
Ronda Rousey has in the past tossed around men much larger than Mayweather but can she really beat World’s best boxer? You tell us.
