Samsung are adding to the “Gear” family. The Samsung Gear S will be the fourth watch in line to the smartwatches that have been put out by the South Korean communications giant. What makes the Gear S stand out from its preceding models is the curved nature of it that wraps around your wrist.
That is not the only or major difference on a device “that expands the smartphone experience to the wrist”. A 2 inch curved Super AMOLED display with essential widget and combined notification boards, the smart watch is packed with various applications, plus an on screen QWERTY keyboard.
It has 1.0 GHz dual Core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, and Tizen based Wearable Plattform. It can accept calls with call forwarding, make calls as a standalone device, and has easy text input.
The apps can let you listen to music and receive calls effortlessly, give you a “turn by turn” navigation of locations and even UV information for those extra sunny days.
Samsung are planning a worldwide launch of the device in October, and Kenyans won’t be far behind in getting the product locally, according to internet rumours.
