Just six months after it was released, Wiz Khalifa’s hit single “See You Again” has reached one billion views on YouTube.
The song, which pays tribute to the late Paul Walker in “Furious 7,” is the first rap video to hit the one billion-mark, making Khalifa the first rapper to reach the “billion” milestone.
Producer Charlie Puth (who sings the catchy hook on the song) tweeted out that the song is also the fastest video to get to a billion views.

“To have a song that’s earnest and sincere and could underscore a celebration of Paul’s life. To be an anthem for that. We worked really hard to dial that in,” said Mike Knobloch, president of film music and publishing at Universal Pictures, in an interview with The Huffington Post.
“We cast artists on the songs almost like we’re casting auxiliary cast members in the film,” added Knobloch. “Bringing Wiz back for this track was perfect. We didn’t go out to anybody else. We just thought it worked.”
