While Serena Williams is enjoying the news that she’s been named as one of People magazine’s most beautiful women in the world, many of her fans are less than impressed after claiming the corresponding photo shoot has been heavily edited.

The 34-year-old tennis star, who was last year named as Sports Illustrated’s sportsperson of the year and is currently ranked as world number one in her field, took to Instagram to share a sultry black and white photo from the May 2 issue that showed her posing in a figure-hugging swimsuit.

Addressing her three million followers, she wrote: ‘@people mag most beautiful 2016,’ alongside a fist-pump emoji. But the moment the photograph went up, her fans began suggesting that the image had been doctored – with almost 600 comments pouring in in the first two hours.
