If you are a die-hard supporter of any team, there is no greater joy than seeing your team rise above the ranks and gain the title elites. It conveys deep feelings, increases your pride and makes you want to support your team even more. But what happens when your team goes from grace to fall? This is the question most fans are asking as most of the elites struggle in the 2019-2020 season. We dissect a few of these teams that play in the EPL and why they aren’t performing, as they should.
- Manchester United

United have always been formidable opponents for most teams. However, ever since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, the side has not managed to retrace their steps to glory. They have spent millions of dollars trying to rebuild their squad. With a lack of creativity in attack, several players injured and a leaky defense, the squad has moved from top of the league to a mid-table team. The lack of signings and proper planning have also compounded the turmoil the most successful team in England face currently. They are currently 7th on the log from 26 matches.
- Arsenal

The last honorable success the Gunners enjoys dates back to 2004 when the Invincibles reigned. With Wenger out, the boys from North London are still trying to find their form. Lying 10th in the league behind teams such as Sheffield displays their deplorable form. A lack of confidence, toothless attack, and a leaky defense has pushed the team from title contenders to top four finalists and now mid-table survivors. Despite a steady revolution from the Wenger era the side seems destined to finish out of the top four for another year.
- Chelsea

The Blues have garnered praise over the past few years for being title contenders and a skilled team. However, their fall from grace has been a heartbreaking one.
Their last major cup, Europa League, was in 2018-2019. With Frank Lampard at the helm, the Blues have begun reinventing their defense and attack. Bringing in new signings and taking new technical directions, the side has made their presence felt and is currently 4th on the log with 41 points.
