Messaging app firm Snapchat on Friday introduced its first hardware product Spectacles that is fitted with an in-built camera.
The sunglasses enable a user to record 10-second video clips which can then be uploaded directly to the Snapchat app via Bluetooth or Wi-fi.
The specs have a button mounted on the frames which when pressed record a video clip while a ring of tiny lights lets people know that you are recording.
The cameras have a 115-degree lens which the firm says more closely resembles a human being’s natural field of view.
The company which re-branded to Snap Inc. said that the rechargeable sunglasses will go on sale later this year at a price of $130 which is roughly Kshs. 13,000.
