Roma have risen from the ruins! Roma made a historic come back to the Champions League after the embarrassing 4-1 lose away in Camp Nou. Barcelona is one of the teams which were earlier on considered the most favorites to win the Champions League. The 3-0 loss at Stadio Di Olimpico in Turin came as a shock to the Catalans.
Roma have proceeded to the semifinals on a 4-4 aggregate but with an away goal advantage. The game which was mostly dominated by Barcelona in terms of possession turned out a disappointment to the Catalans since Messi and Suarez posed no threat at all. Edin Dzeko opened the scoreline at the sixth minute before earning Roma a penalty at the thirtieth minute.
The winning goal came from a late header by Manolas. It was a historic moment for the team which last qualified for the last four in 1984 when it lost the finals to Liverpool. This goal by Manolas earned him very great respect with the fans branding him “The Greek God in Rome.” The question now is, will Messi still remain a favorite for the Balon D’or this year?

Another player who has also been battling for the Ballon D’or was in action yesterday. Mohammed Salah, famously known as Mo Salah, led Liverpool into the semi-finals. The player who has been astonishing this season opened the scoring for Liverpool who were 1-0 down to City and came back to win the game. The Reds proceeded on a 5-1 aggregate against City.
Let the battle for Ballon D’or now begin in the semifinals! Will the Egyptian God, Salah carry the day or the Portuguese CR7 king, Ronaldo take it home this time again?
