Justin Beiber has officially beat One Direction for the number one album.
Bieber released Purpose on November 13, the same day One Direction released Made In The A.M. Both were highly-anticipated albums, and the superstar acts pulled out all the stops when it came to promotion. And over the last week, everyone has waited with baited breath to find out who would score the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
On Friday, it was revealed the honor went to Bieber and Purpose. The singer’s longtime manager Scooter Braun was the first to break the news, posting an image on Instagram that read, “OUR WORK IS DONE HERE.” He wrote in the caption, “#1 album #PURPOSE @justinbieber @sb_projects People stopped believing. We didn’t. Like I said…we love being the underdog. Thanks for believing with us and believing in him. Congrats Jb. That’s one amazing album. Welcome back.”
It is clear that Justin’s hard work and resilience has paid off greatly !
