Manchester City have been given the task of getting past Zidane’s Real Madrid after being drawn to the La Liga giants who overcame Wolfsburg in the quarter finals thanks to a Ronaldo hat-trick.The first leg will be played on April 26 with the Bernabeu tie scheduled for May 4.
Man City’s only two meetings with Real Madrid in European competition came in 2012 in the Champions League group stage. Real won 3-2 in the Bernabeu in September with City’s goals coming from Edin Dzeko and Aleksandar Kolarov.
But City managed a 1-1 draw in the return match in the November with Sergio Aguero’s penalty cancelling out Karim Benzema’s opener.
Meanwhile,Atletico Madrid will face Bayern Munich whom they’ll host on April 27 with the return leg set for May 3.Diego Simeone will be looking to improve his record against Pep Guardiola having lost his two previous meetings with him.
Elsewhere,in the Europa League,Liverpool will be making a trip to Villareal having seen off Borussia Dortmund yesternight in one of the most dramatic comebacks in the history of the League.Current holders Sevilla will as well play Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League semi-final.First legs will be on April 28 with the return on May 5.
