News coming in reports of the shooting of a student from Ulanda Girls Secondary School in Migori County.
The student was shot by a prison warder who was pursuing an escaped convict.
Several students suffered shock when their colleague was shot as several gunshots rent the air as warders tried to flash out the convict.
Migori Police Chief Gladys Rutere says the condition of the girl remains unknown after initial reports indicated she had died.
The shooting comes barely four days after prison wardens shot and injured five demonstrators in Migori town during anti-IEBC demos organized by the Opposition.
