The much anticipated debut EP from upcoming rapper DKY SiMBA has finally dropped. The rapper had to postponed the initial release date after he had issues with his distributors just days prior. The young rapper who came into the limelight after dropping hit singles “Untitled 2″ and “Caught Up in a Trance” featuring Gambi has been an industry prospect for a while now. After a hot start in the industry, the rapper however went underground leaving most fans with more questions than answers. However, all those doubts were squashed towards the end of last year when SiMBA teased that he was working on his debut project.
After almost a year without dropping any music, the EP is finally here! Initially set to be released on New Year’s, the rapper had to postponed the release date due to issues he was having with his distributors. Either way, it was worth the wait! The 6-track EP dubbed “A Shot in The Dark” is a pure modern day Hip Hop ingenuity. The album’s craft is an exploration of SiMBA’s versatility and fluidity with different subgenres of rap allowing him to express his talent fully.
Listening to A Shot in the Dark is like taking a journey down the Urban Hip Hop aisle. There’s no way you’ll get to the end and fail to put a ring on this one. The songs are a pure reflection of a young rappers experiences in an evolving millennial age culture. Top that with a J-Cole inspired sound and a diverse realm of beats, you have a masterpiece! Credits to producer Kayorille for mixing and mastering such a pure gem.
SiMBA was also able to tap in features from Jovie Jovv and Caleb Awiti who brought in a unique flavour to the EP. Shot in the Dark is now out on all streaming platforms!
