Southampton has told off suitors interested in penning down defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama. The
Kenyan international has attracted interests from various clubs particularly Tottenham Hotspur. Mauricio Pochettino who formerly managed Southampton before being forced out is keen to sign the box to box former Celtic midfielder.
Victor Wanyama has enjoyed a good performance at Southampton despite major departures of valuable team mates. The Saints have so far lost Nathaniel Clyne to Liverpool and Morgan Schneiderlin to United this summer and failed to make Toby Alderweireld’s loan permanent – a year on from a close-season that saw the exits of players Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert, Calum Chambers and manager Mauricio Pochettino.
However Southampton according to The Independent has insisted that the 23 year old enforcer is not up for sale.
